There are several ways to rewind, fast forward and skip in the audio player.
With the progress bar
Put your finger on the progress bar and swipe left or right to go to an earlier or later point in the book. To move more slowly and precisely, hold your finger on the progress bar and swipe down before you move left or right.
Directly under the cover, you can switch between "Book" and "Chapter" or "Track", depending on what the book has. The progress bar then shows either the whole book or just the current chapter or track, which makes it easier to find a specific point. You can move slowly and precisely in both views.
With the skip buttons
Use the buttons on either side of the play button to skip forward or back. By default, they skip 15 seconds. Press and hold a skip button to skip further and faster.
Between chapters or tracks
If a book has chapters or tracks, there are skip buttons on either side of the chapter or track at the bottom of the audio player. Use them to go to the next or previous chapter or track. You can also tap the chapter or track to see the full list and jump straight to the one you want.
Undo a jump
Every time you jump in the book, whether with the progress bar, the skip buttons or the chapter or track buttons, a message briefly shows how far you went. If you jumped by mistake or to the wrong place, tap "Undo" in the message to go back.
Change how far the buttons skip
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the audio player.
- Choose "Adjust skip length".
- Choose how far you want to skip forward and how far back. You can choose anything from 5 seconds to 30 minutes, and set them separately, for example 15 seconds forward and 2 minutes back.
Choose the skip length straight from the button
In the same menu, you can turn on "Quick menu for skip length". When it's on, pressing and holding a skip button lets you choose the skip length directly, instead of skipping further and faster.
Rewind automatically after a break
In the same menu, below "Adjust skip length", you'll find "Resume rewind setting". Here you can choose how far the app should rewind when you start listening again after a break, from 0 to 30 seconds. This makes it easier to get back into the story. If you don't want the app to rewind, choose 0 seconds.
Find the settings in your profile
You can also find all these settings in your profile. Tap "Profile" at the bottom right. In the "My App Settings" section, you'll find them under "Audio Player".
