Yes! You can choose whether the BookBeat app should be light or dark, or follow your device's settings.
Change the colour theme
- Tap "Profile" in the bottom right corner of the app.
- In the "My App Settings" section, tap "Colour Theme".
- Choose one of the options below.
- "Match device theme": the app is light or dark depending on your device settings. This is the default setting.
- "Light theme": the app is always light.
- "Dark theme": the app is always dark.
Always dark audio player
If you use "Match device theme" or "Light theme", you can turn on "Always dark audio player". The audio player then stays dark, while the rest of the app follows the colour theme you've chosen.
You'll find "Always dark audio player" under "Colour Theme" and in the three dots menu in the top right corner of the audio player.
If you've chosen "Dark theme", the audio player is already dark, so you can't turn this setting on.
The e-book reader
The e-book reader has its own colour settings, so you can choose a different colour theme for reading. You can read more in our article about the settings in the e-book reader.
