You can basically buy a gift card for anyone! You can buy gift cards for someone that already has a BookBeat account, for someone who is new to BookBeat or why not for yourself?

The recipient just has to redeem the gift card on our website and either create a new account or log in to their current account. The user can listen and read the amount of hours included in the gift card during the time the gift card is valid for. If the included hours are not enough, the user can upgrade the gift card or buy extra hours, depending on the included product.

Buying a gift card for someone that has a BookBeat subscription:

If the user of the gift card already has an account and an ongoing subscription, the gift card period will start after their current ongoing payment period. When the gift card runs out, their subscription will continue and payment will be taken from their previously registered payment method.

Buying a gift card for someone who is new to BookBeat:

Someone that has never used BookBeat will not have to start a subscription or enter a payment method and the access to BookBeat will automatically stop when the gift card is used up*. Of course they can always choose to keep using BookBeat by entering a payment method and activating a subscription for after the gift card period has ended.

Buying a gift card for someone that lives abroad

You can also buy a gift card for someone that lives abroad, and they can use our service wherever they are. You only need to consider that a gift card is only valid for the website it was bought on, so make sure that is the website the recipient uses to redeem the gift card. If the recipient does not have a payment method that is issued in the country the gift card is valid for, they will not be able to upgrade their gift card or start a subscription afterwards.

*Please note that gift cards cannot be combined with a free trial. If the gift card recipient wants to use a free trial, they will have to start a subscription and enter a valid payment method first and then redeem the gift card once the trial has run out.
