Books with a padlock
Some books have a padlock on the cover. These books aren't included in the subscription, but you can buy them separately. If a book doesn't have a padlock, it's included in your subscription. You can read more in our article about how to buy books.
Why some books cost extra
Some publishers don't allow their books to be included in streaming subscriptions. We still want you to be able to read and listen to these books, so we offer them to buy instead. Without this option, they wouldn't be available on BookBeat at all. Being able to buy these books doesn't affect which books are included in your subscription.
